A few weeks ago we finished our international units, whichunit was your favorite and why?

The Japan unit because we got to make very good food and I got to learn many things from that unit, like how to make sushi rolls. Those were my favorite. What I liked the most was being able to put whatever we wanted in the sushi rolls. Also I learned how to roll sushi for the first time. I usually don’t eat sushi but after trying it for the first time I really enjoyed it.

What country do you wish we studied and recipes would you want to complete

I wish we studied about France, because I’ve never had food from there but I heard it was very good. Also I’ve always wanted to try something new. They seem like they have many very good food options.

One challenging aspect about the cooking recipes is learning how to work well with ingredients. To be able to put everything together, especially with ingredients your not used of working with.

What have you most enjoyed about cooking recipes from other countries?

We changed up how we did the postcards for this unit, which did you like better? Having to research all of the topics but then do small group presentations, or having to research on topic but then do a class presentation? Tell me why.

I prefer having to do a class presentations because we stay on one topic and we make sure each one of us participate and contribute in each slide.

What was the most challenging aspect of the summative lab?

There wasn’t really a challenging aspect about this lab but the only part that was most difficult for me was rolling up the sushi all together but my result was a success.

This is our second experience with plating, what did you use from your experience last time, and what did you do differently?

First I made sure I was good with time because last time I was a in a little rush. However I still managed to finish with another successful result. Which lead me to pay more attention to time on the second dish.
